The evening spent at Sierra de la Ventana was pleasant but uneventful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2789.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"IMG_2789\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IMG_2789\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2789_thumb.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p><em>Our hotel in Sierra De La Ventana..<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/day2ride.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"day 2ride\" border=\"0\" alt=\"day 2ride\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/day2ride_thumb.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"358\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The ride out of Las Grutas was fantastic because we took a dirt road for about 75km that was awesome fun to ride. This was Enrico\u2019s first attempt at dirt on the GS and he did really well although he was slow\u2026not sure if that was him or the BMW?!? <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0126.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"SAM_0126\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_0126\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0126_thumb.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"461\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p><em>Not bad for a skinny old bullet on a fat bike..<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0128.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"SAM_0128\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_0128\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0128_thumb.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The rest of the ride to Las Grutas couldn&#8217;t have been longer, straighter, more boring or hotter. At one stage it was 40C and my feet were burning inside my boots. The area we travelled through was so desolate and hot that it was peppered with salt pans and shrubs for almost the entire ride.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0132.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"SAM_0132\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_0132\" src=\"http:\/\/www.capetocairo2010.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/SAM_0132_thumb.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p><em>So hot that Enrico shrank!!\u2026.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Las Grutas is a coastal resort town that is jam packed with tourists.
